Here’s my cover of Mr. Ronatay’s An Mamutan sa Isog nin Kinaban

The weight of dusk precipitates on your palm;
and why, by each graze of your hand on my face, stars entrance me?
I am deafened by the pealing of your breath which gently casts on my ear,

down my neck, sliding through my chest.
You said the tickle & pith of our lips made you nauseous on the night when the moon rushed to commence our story
Drunken, and dancing by the whirl of our embrace…Then, you said, then is the finest hour to succumb to death.
I broke to a smile.
I was smiling and drowning into your eyes; the blue of which shared the same depth & placidity as the sea.

thanks for the translations of the poems. here are the translations of the terms based on bicol-legazpi

agimadmad = flickering light; sometimes, this also refers to the “pupil of the eye”. (in rinconada, i was told, the term refers to the act of “seeing someone or something from a distance but not giving that person or something due attention.)

alumaad = not very clear; [cloudy (?)]. in some occasions, i heard my grandma used the term to refer to “the fire from a wood that’s not very dry”.

sulnupan = west

alumaad, i was told a sec ago is also used in rinconada to refer to a dull color

i saw both the translation. nice work DTN.

yes, jay, you got it right. agimadmad is a vague vision, almost fleeting. alumaad or alumad is slightly wet.
