i rest my case, oh 10/25 phenomenon

How fortuitous that we grabbed a bite at Sbarro last weekend ‘coz when I went home w/ the leftover pizza and oil-drenched garlic bread; only then did the idea come to me: try to put aluminum foil in the positive & negative charges of the DVD remote control batteries in the hope of resuscitating it’s facility. And voila…

It worked. I can now stop (for now) buying vcds & revert to getting those 16-in-one (need I say pirated?) DVDs –only three fourths of which is actually in there. Shitty, yeah? But you’re in no position to complain if in the first place you’re the cheap|stealing bastard getting pirated flicks.

After the friday shift I finally took out from my locker the collection of 711 coffecup holders. I started collecting them around February, I think. I like the corrugated paper & the font & color & the promise of an art attack come Christmas season. (Hazel, I miss you!)

Nope, I’m not big on coffee. I did, for a time, get addicted to Hershey’s hot choco but the entire collection here is mainly from Jaspher’s coffee consumption (minus the ounces he refilled them with).

Kenn, Donald & I were at Kenny’s yesterday. When you’ve been too far away from home for longer than you’d rather be away (did you get that?), you develop this almost consanguine feeling towards your fellow Bikolano. Geographic distance, really, is not too
bad then.

And what of the10/25 thing? Nothing momentous ever transpired on that day. Well, I chatted with my dear Ate Tin but the connection was busted; and then had dinner with Donald & Kenn. Nada. Poof.

If you love The Beatles or the flick  I Am Sam, if you love either…heck, even if you love neither…listen to Sarah Maclachlan’s cover of Blackbird.

I just love Matchbox Twenty’s new video–the orange, etc balloons emerging from an open manwhole to fill up a sepia world. Very visually poetic. And the song… I’m glad the Matchbox of the nineties is back. Hate to break it to you, Rob, but going solo wasn’t the way to go. So, Yey on the reunion.

And look what I found:

 And this:

I still maintain that everything else is a byproduct of the Beatles.
